Karunanidhi Burial: HC Satire On AIADMK Govt!

DMK approached Madras High Court on Tuesday challenging the decision of AIADMK Government to deny permission for burial of M Karunaninidhi at the Marina Beach in Chennai. Hearing of the writ petition took place on Wednesday morning.
AIADMK Govt Counsel argued, 'Only CMs who died in office were allotted permission for burial at the Marina Beach. Annadurai, MGR and Jayalalithaa passed away while being CM, that is why government granted them space at Marina Beach. Periyar was the tallest leader of Dravidian movement. Even he wasn't buried at Marina Beach'.
Then, The Acting Chief Justice asked Tamil Nadu Government to show the permission granted for Jayalalithaa memorial at Marina Beach.
When Govt Counsel commented there is no need for hearing on a writ petition in a hurry, High Court shot back, 'Should we wait for a week?'.
Terming the move of AIADMK Govt as political vendetta, DMK said one crore followers of DMK in Tamil Nadu will be offended if Karunanidhi was denied a respectful burial.
Finally, Madras High Court granted permission for DMK to carry out the burial of Karunanidhi at Marina Beach. The funeral is going to happen on Wednesday evening.
