The demolition of the old Telangana Secretariat complex once again made it to the headlines with the High Court serving notices to the governments and other religious bodies.

The Telangana High Court heard the petition filed by Khaja Aijazuiddin who works as a High Court advocate on the demolition of the old secretariat building. The petitioner sought directives to re-build the religious places.

The Court issued notices to the Central government, the state government, Waqf Board and Commissioner Endowments in this regard. The High Court directed the Assistant Solicitor General of India and Advocate General of Telangana to file counter-affidavits by the 1st of October.

The lawyer made allegations that while demolishing the old Secretariat complex two mosques and a temple in the secretariat premises were damaged.

The petitioner told the High Court that, a temple in the complex premises was demolished during the process, and demolishing the temple is a violation of the Endowments Act.
