The TRS is now busy devising strategies to defeat its friend-turned-foe Prof.Kodandaram if he contests from the Karimnagar-warangal-Khammam graduates constituency. Prof. Kodandaram, who has been staunchly opposing the TRS government and had even formed Telangana Jana Samiti in the process. But, the party failed to make a mark in 2018 elections.
Now, he is planning to contest for the Graduate MLC seat and has already begun contacting the influencers in the constituency. He is meeting the managements and the staff of the engineering colleges and the managements of the other colleges. This has spurred the TRS into action. Now the party is on the lookout for a candidate who can take on Kodandaram and influence the college managements in a big way.
If sources are to be believed, the TRS is trying to rope in former education minister and senior politician Kadiyam Srihari. He has extensive contact with the educational institutions and their managements in the region. He is a very senior politician with wide connections. Hence, he would be a perfect foil for Prof. Kodandaram, the TRS leadership feels. Efforts are on to make him agree to the fight.
