Awards are recognition to anyone who invested all their energies into their work and gave brilliant output. Filmfare is considered as an esteemed award presented for the people in the movie world as a token of appreciation to their outstanding talent and hard work. But Filmfare is gradually losing its credibility as people are accusing it of being completely biased over the past few years. This opinion became stronger now with #BoycottFilmfare trending all over social media.

The 65th edition of Filmfare Awards was held recently in Guwahati and Zoya Akthar's 'Gully Boy' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt swept away most of the awards. The film won 13 awards that night including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Music Album, Best Film, Best Director, Best Lyrics, Best Screenplay, Best Dialogues, and few others. People on the internet are trolling the jury very badly for handing over all the awards for 'Gully Boy'. Though there are no doubts over the film's quality, the Filmfare and its jury comfortably ignored some deserving films like 'Super 30', 'Kesari' and 'Manikarnika'. With all due respect, 'Gully Boy' is inspired by Eminem's '8 Mile'.

On top of everything, they gave the best debut female award to Ananya Pandey for her performance in 'Student Of The Year 2' which is just inexcusable as per them. They say that Ananya doesn't even know the 'A' in Acting and questioning the jury on how can they present her the best debut of the year award. Some of the celebrities openly expressed their displeasure over this. Manoj Muntashir, the lyricist of 'Teri Mitti' criticized the jury for selecting 'Apna Time Aayega' for the best lyrics category over his song and boycotted the event. Also, there is a strong talk that the Filmfare team gave awards to those who support the left ideology and completely sidelined the films which promoted nationalism which may or may not be true. Anyway, this controversy is getting bigger now and let us see what happens next.
