TRS Refuses To Take The Congress Bait

TRS boss and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has once again shown that he is a past-master in the art of politics. Though he has his differences with the NDA and especially the BJP, KCR does not clearly want to rub the BJP on the wrong side at the national level. So, when the Congress Party offered to support if the TRS puts up a candidate for the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post, the TRS boss immediately declined the offer.

KCR knows very well that his candidate in any case will lose the election and the BjP will get its candidate Harivamsh Rai elected as the deputy chairperson. So, why antagonize the BJP for a lost cause? By putting up a candidate against the NDA candidate, he would be seen as getting closer to the Congress. At this stage, this would not help the TRS cause. So, KCR said no to the proposal.

KCR is doing a tightrope walk at the national level. He slams the BJP at the state level, but does not want to anger the BJP at the national level. Hence he has always voted for the NDA on any bill including the Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. He knows that rubbing the BjP on the wrong side could land him in trouble. So, KCR did not fall for the Congress bait.

In other words, he has also sent the signal that all is well between him and the BJP despite the outward comments against the NDA. KCR will unveil his national level political ambitions only at the right time and right place.
