In the wake of the ongoing Coronavirus spreading its deadly wings across the state, the Andhra Pradesh government conducted a serological survey in the 13 districts in two phases.

According to the survey, 19.7 percent of the population got exposed to the dreaded virus and they got recovered from the respiratory disease in the state.

Talking about the survey, Andhra Pradesh Commissioner of Medical and Health Katamaneni Bhaskar said the survey was conducted to find out, what percentage of the population got exposed to the virus.

The survey was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the survey was conducted in the districts of East Godavari, Anantapur, Nellore, and Krishna Districts between August 5th to August 15th.

In the second phase, the survey was conducted in the remaining districts in the state between August 26 and 31st. 5,000 samples have been tested in every district for the survey.

The survey has found out that 18.2 percent of the Village population was exposed to the virus, while Urban(22.5 percent), Cantonment(20.5 percent), and Non-cantonment Zones(19.3 percent) population got exposed to the virus.
