Centre Says- Don't Use The Word Dalit

Whenever someone has to talk about SC.. ST issues it is common that they use Dalit word. Central government clarified that Dalit word should not be used in official documents. It is known that 'Harijan' word was used earlier when SC, ST persons were issued certificates. It was decided later not to use Harijan word and clarified that using the Harijan word is wrong.
Whenever someone is addressing SC, ST communities.. while issuing certificates to them, everybody is using the word 'Dalit'. But Gwaliar Court gave a verdict recently that it is not right to use Dalit word. Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has also taken a decision not to use the word. According to them, whenever SC, ST communities are addressed in government communication in future, 'Dalit' word should not be used. They have decided to use another suitable word which gives a similar meaning to Scheduled Castes.
They have also clarified that they should be referred as Scheduled Castes going forward and Dalit word should not be used when people are addressing SC, ST persons. On the whole, Dalit word should be used from now onwards.
