Reason For Shelving Mani Ratnam's Dream Project

Indian Cinema's favourite Director Mani Ratnam is busy filming the magnumopus 'Ponniyin selvan'. It is said that the film is by far the dream project of this maverick Director.
Earlier Mani Ratnam has planned this mega project with Superstar Mahesh Babu and Thalapathy Vijay. The news also spread like wild fire but the project got shelved all of a sudden and the reasons were unknown then.
Recently Suhasini Mani Ratnam has revealed the reason behind the abrupt ending of the planned project. She said that it was only due to huge VFX work and Mani Ratnam couldn't find one then and thus shelved it she ended.
It is evident that now Mani Ratnam has resumed the work and even filmed few portions of the film starring Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi and Jayan Ravi, Trisha among others in this mega multistarrer.
Director Mani Ratnam is also in plans to make a web series for Amazon Prime that involves 9 episodes directed by nine different directors of Mani Ratnam's choice.
