Due to the pandemic-caused nation-wide shutdown, most businesses have nosedived. The incomes have fallen and the companies and industries removed employees. But, here is one company that created a record in sales and production. It not just made huge profits, but also broke past records.
The Parle G has notched up maximum sales during the March-May period. With most NGOs, activists and even the Governments donating biscuits to the migrants stranded due to the shutdown, the production had gone up. All the 120 units of the Parle G in the country have begun selling more since March 25, which is barely two days after the nation-wide lockdown. Not just Parle G, but all other biscuits of the same brand too have registered high sales. The sales are about 50 per cent of the normal annual sales.
Parle officials said that this has shown the faith that the people have in their brand. The growth has been the highest in 40 years, they said and added that they were distributing a large number of biscuit packates for free among the needy during the lockdown.
