In a quite interesting move, Rajya Sabha Secretariat said that a word from PM Modi's speech in the Rajya Sabha was removed from the records.

During his reply to the discussion on a motion thanking the President at the start of the Budget session, Prime Minister Modi delivered a speech to attack the opposition.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu directed to expunge a word from Modi's speech after hearing the day's proceedings.

"Chairman was pleased to direct expunction of a certain portion of the proceedings of Rajya Sabha dated February 6 at about 6.20 and 6.30 pm," Rajya Sabha Secretariat's statement read.

Earlier in 2018 also some words were expunged from Modi's speech where he commented Congress leader BK Hariprasad.

Modi made remarks while he defended the controversial NPR and said the population register of the country was being updated with all the demographic information so that the welfare schemes of the government can be targeted better.

After Narendra Modi finished his speech, Venkaiah Naidu has also expunged a word from the statement of Leader of the Opposition and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
