CIABC Writes To 10 States To Allow The Sale Of Alcohol

The 21-day nationwide lockdown has resulted in shutdown everything including the liquor shops which in turn led to the rise of illicit and spurious liquor sales as the liquor lovers trying it hard to live without liquor.

Following this, the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC) has written to so states and asked the states to permit the sale of alcohol to counter the sale of illicit liquor.

The CIABC has written letters to the Chief Ministers of Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal states to allow them the sale of alcohol.

In the letter, CIABC Director-General Vinod Giri maintained that they were receiving reports of the sales of illicit liquor which has the potentiality to result in serious health hazards for the public.
