Exclusive: Rashmika Mandanna Talks About Dear Comrade With Tupaki.com

Dear Comrade is being pushed as a big Telugu film from Vijay Devarakonda in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam apart from Telugu. The movie even though is written and directed by Bharat Kamma, who did not direct any big feature films before, got major attention from all languages and Karan Johar, famous Hindi writer and producer acquired Hindu remake rights even before release.

Rashmika Mandanna, film's leading lady, is busy with promotions of the film in different states and is also busy with other projects. But she took out time to speak with Tupaki.com and here are excerpts from our chit-chat ...

Q: Hi Rashmika Ma'am!! Hope you're doing fine, amidst all the non-stop promotional activities. Going to our first question, Not just in films but anywhere else, success speaks like nothing else. How did the success change you as a person?

Rashmika: I am good. Success helped me in my career but it did not cause any change in my personality. I don't give success such high priority in life and don't rate it so much that I only care about it. I only hope that it won't turn into a failure and I work hard to remain successful. In doing so, there will be few changes professionally or personally in a person. And it is termed as attitude by some people. I can't keep answering to such comments.

Q: Your career is going great in Telugu after it started positively with Chalo and now you're doing Sarileru Neekevvaru with Mahesh. Do you ever think - What Next??

Rashmika: Heroines have a very short career span. You can only be in serious limelight for 5 years (may be). In that time, I want to do all the characters, I would love to do and also, all kinds of projects I can be part off. Going forward, I will choose what I like from the offers I get. Till now, I did not think about, "What Next?" I may think about it in future (laughs ...)

Q: You have been doing Kannada films regularly few years ago and now, you're doing Telugu films more regularly. Did you settle down in Telugu now or will you look at Kannada films again?

Rashmika: Kannada is my mother tongue. If I am doing Telugu films today, then that is because of Kannada film lovers, audiences who accepted me and made my first film a big hit. I will always be thankful and grateful to them. Due to continuous offers in Telugu and as I have already given my dates to projects here, I couldn't accept some lucrative Kannada projects. I will always be ready to do a Kannada film whenever I get a break in Telugu. Right now, I entered Tamil Industry too and I am working with Karthi in a film.

Q: Wow, that's great. You are now acting in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil languages. Are you looking for Pan-Indian actress tag?

Rashmika: (Laughing out Loud) I do like the tag, Pan-Indian actress. Everyone loves to be called like that. I can't predict the future right now, but all I can do is work hard utilizing the best of the opportunities I get. Rest is in the hands of the audiences.

Q: You have a great amount of share in Geetha Govindam success. Did you ever felt that the credit has gone more to hero than you?

Rashmika: (After a brief silence) I did not think like that till now. But I feel that was the case, after you said so. (Laughing) I think that is answer you were expecting from me and that will be the headline of the interview, am I right? (Laughs)! Geetha Govindam success credit goes to the entire team of the film and let it be like that... (Smirking)

Q: Your second film in Telugu entered 100 crores club. Do you think the same success will be achieved by Dear Comrade?

Rashmika: If Fans decide, I don't think it is impossible. But they have to like the film, first and everything should fall in place too. I worked harder for this film than Geetha Govindam. Right from cricket coaching to acting to promotions, I have put in lots of work into the film. In fact everyone from the team have worked hard on this one. Let's see what happens this time around.

Q: Most of the senior and your fellow actresses look to gain glamour doll image too. But you seem to be going different to them. Why?

Rashmika: Many are competing to do glamour roles but challenging roles and acting prominent ones have less competition, so I chose this route (laughs). I don't think gamour is all about skin show. If one can look beautiful and perform on-screen well, then it should also be called glamour. I believe strongly in that. I may get less offers this way but I am happy like this. I will choose best of the opportunities I get and continue this way in future too.

Q: You worked with Vijay Devarakonda again. Rumour is that it is Vijay, who recommended you for this role, is it true?

Rashmika: We developed a good chemistry while doing Geetha Govindam film. Vijay talked to me, for the first time, about Dear Comrade story when we were shooting for Geetha Govindam. And he said that my character requires to be a cricketer too. I agreed to do the film as I wanted to play the cricketer role and felt the story was interesting. So, I took coaching in cricket for 4 months. But in the film, I will only be seen playing cricket for just 10 minutes. I feel a little bit sad about that.

* We hope that you will not feel sad about it after Dear Comrade success. We wish you all the best for future projects and thank you for taking time to talk to us, Tupaki.com, in you busy schedule. All the best ...

Rashmika: Thank you. All the readers of this interview should watch Dear Comrade in Theatres for sure!
