As per the strong buzz in the political circles, Actress Sumalatha will be foraying into active politics soon. She might be contesting from Mandya Segment in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls on Congress Ticket.
Sumalatha's Husband Ambareesh hasn't contested 2018 Karnataka Assembly Polls due to health issues. Reports of Sumalatha replacing her husband in Mandya surfaced then itself but that didn't happen until now. Yet again, The reports surfaced after the demise of the Kannada Rebel Star.
Right now, Congress and JD (S) have been running the coalition government. JD (S) is expecting the Mandya Lok Sabha seat as part of the alliance deal. CM HD Kumaraswamy wishes to field his Son Nikhil in this constituency. Sumalatha mayn't hesitate to contest as Independent if Congress denies MP Ticket.
