In the last five years, Indian star player, skipper Virat Kohli has become a key member of the team and even earned a name as the master of the chases as he enjoys a good record in chasing targets. We cannot imagine the Indian team without King Kohli.

Now, former Indian Skipper, Dileep Vengsarkar has made some serious claims on Dhoni and the then Indian coach Gary Kirsten that they are skeptical about picking Virat.

He even attributed his pick of Virat over Tamil Nadu's sensation Bardinath in 2008 for losing his job.

Back in 2008, Vengsarkar has recommended Virat Kohli for selection as he has completely convinced by the great technic enjoyed by Virat Kohli. But things took a different turn as both Dhoni and Gary were in support of Badrinath.

"He (Kohli) was technically sound and I thought he should be played. We were going to Sri Lanka and I felt that this is the ideal situation that he should be in the team. My four colleagues said 'As you say Dilip Bhai'," Vengsarkar said.

"However, Gary and Dhoni were saying 'No, we haven't seen him and we will continue with the same team," Vengsarkar added.
