Gambhir To Contest Elections On BJP Ticket

Cricketer Gautam Gambhir is likely to join BJP anytime soon. He could be contesting on BJP ticket in the next general elections from Delhi.
BJP hasn't got hold power in Delhi for decades now. The Saffron Party is now trying to use the image of Gambhir to build it's image and emerge as a threat to Ruling AAP. This is a good ploy by BJP ahead of the polls.
Gambhir hasn't played international cricket after 2016. He scored 5,238 runs in 147 ODIs and 4,154 runs in 58 Tests. His role in helping India win ICC World Cup 2011 is unforgettable. He led IPL Franchise KKR to two IPL Titles. In IPL 11, The Left Hander represented Delhi Daredevils but failed to change the bad fortune of the franchise.
In the past, Cricketers Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Vinod Kambli, Mohammad Kaif and Praveen Kumar forayed into politics.
