Is ace comedian Brahmanandam joining politics? These questions cropped up after the actor was seen taking part in the election campaign of BJP candidate Dr Sudhakar in Karnatakaâs Chikkaballapur. The constituency is one among the 15 constituencies that are going for the byelections, which will decide the fate of the Yeddiyurappa government.
Chikkaballapura has substantial Telugu population and Brahmanandam campaigned for the BJP in the constituency on Saturday. This has sent the political watchers into a tizzy guestimating over his political foray. Sources said Brahmanandam would join the BJP. Brahmanandam was not available for clarification. Brahmanandam, whose film career spans over four decades, has always steered clear of politics. Even when Chiru formed the Praja Rajyam, he did not evince any interest. This is the first time that he has ever campaigned for any party.
Sources also say that Brahmanandam may have campaigned for Dr Sudhakar due to his personal friendship and equation with him and he might keep away from active politics. This is mainly due to his relation with the candidate
