In Talk: Rs 4900 Crore Withdrawn In 6 Weeks!

Farmers across Telangana had collectively withdrawn as much as Rs 4,900 crore in the past six weeks. Never been before such a huge amount was withdrawn by the beneficiaries of a Government Scheme in a short period. KCR's Rythu Bandhu scheme made it happen!
TRS Government created history with Rythu Bandhu through which Rs 8,000 per Acre would be offered to every farmer in the state every year. Cheques of the First Installment (Rs 4,000) were distributed recently.
As many as 58 lakh Farmers in 10,558 Villages received 57.88 lakh cheques. So far, 40.94 lakh cheques have been withdrawn. 16.94 Lakh Cheques were yet to be distributed because of unavailability of the beneficiaries.
While some of the farmers have been using the money for agricultural purposes, Others placed the amount in Fixed Deposit or to buy electrical equipment for household use. There is a festival atmosphere all-over Telangana since the past few weeks.
