A Person identified as Sanjay cheated aspiring Actors claiming to be an Assistant of Sekhar Kammula or Casting Director of his movie. One of the victims, an engineering student from Ongole, reached the office of Sekhar Kammula to report about the fraud. Quickly, The Filmmaker lodged a complaint with Hyderabad's Cyber Crime Department and the culprit was sent behind the bars within a week. He thanked the Cyber Crime Officials for the prompt response.
Sekhar Kammula clarified that he doesn't have any Casting Director in his camp. 'My direction team will contact people if they find them suitable for any role. We never take money from anyone for acting or being a part of my film crew. In fact it is our policy to compensate each and everyone who work for us. I request everyone to be cautious about fake advertisements,' he wrote in his Facebook Post.
Directors like Sekhar Kammula have become a soft target as they are known for encouraging young talent. Most of the films of this Sensible Filmmaker feature new comers in the lead roles. That is why cheaters have been using his name to loot the aspiring Actors. It's high time wannabe artistes approach the Direction Department directly instead of relying on middleman for offers.
