Uninhabited Homes Become Isolation Centres
X
The people and the Governments are coming up with funny and interesting solutions to address the issue of quarantining and isolation. Garhwal district in Uttarakhand is known to have many villages where scores of houses remain perpetually locked. It is because many people move out of the village for work and the houses are locked for months.

Now, the officials in Uttarakhand are planning to use these ghost houses as quarantine centres. These houses are isolated and are located atop hillocks. The Government is planning to use these isolated houses and turn them into isolation rooms for Covid positive cases and those suspected of coming in touch with the Covid patients. Even those coming from outside are being kept in quarantine in these houses. The system has begun in one of village identified as Amandanandapalla. Now the Uttarakhand government is planning to have more such villages.

They could not keep the people needing isolation in the village school as it is in the centre of the village. These houses are separate and it Is easy to quarantine them. Now, more villages are likely to follow suit and convert ghost houses into isolation centres in Uttaranchal state.
