The TRS may have a free run all across Telangana and its candidate may have won with convincing majorities. But, there is one constituency where the party's success tide is stemmed. The wave is turning into an ebb in this constituency. That constituency is Mulug assembly constituency.
In Mulug, Congress leader and former Naxal Seetakka has managed to buck the trend and defeat the TRS candidate. He is hugely popular in the constituency as she has live connections with several tribal hamlets. As a naxalite leader, she has toured the nook and corner of the constituency in the past. She has done the same during the Covid and reached out to interior tribal villages. She had personally distributed relief material in several tribal villages. Her popularity is on an upswing these days.
The ruling TRS is unable to find a strong rival for Seetakka. Former minister Chandulal Nayak is unwell and his children are very unpopular in the constituency. So, the party has now asked Minister Satyavathi Rathod to take care of the constituency. Though charismatic, she is unable to match the reach and popularity of Seetakka. Both KCR and KTR are said to be busy finding a suitable foil for Seetakka.
Till they find one such leader, Seetakka, the Congress MLA , is having a gala time in Mulug assembly constituency. Mulug is an ST reserved constituency.
