The CONTENT

The story of two different people Siddharth Nayak (Charan) and Cherry (Charan) who happens to meet during half the story and how they bring goons to death is simply called 'Nayak'. While 'Nayak' is the man of masses who stands by thousands of people to fight injustice, 'Cherry' is a lover boy kind who sets the screen ablaze. The troubles they face, the noise they make and the thrill they give is something you should watch on silver screen.

The EFFORT :

On-Screen:

Both as lover boy and a revenge seeking, people supporting hero, Ram Charan excelled in all departments. Say it action, comedy or romance, this young hero is no less than his dad Chiru in this double action entertainer. Charan's dances in 'Laila O Laila' and 'Subhalekha Rasukunna' are a class apart.

Kajal Agarwal is a perfect meat in glamour department and she has put on little weight which might disappoint her previous slender curves lovers. Amala Paul has nothing to offer in scenes, but did her best job for two songs. In 'Subhalekha Rasukunna' song, you cannot resist the temptation caused by her charm.

Comedy king Brahmi is dominated this time by another talented artist Jayaprakash Reddy. While Brahmi as 'Jilebi' and MS Narayana as CBI officer make us smile, Jayaprakash will burst us into laughter with his perfectly timed dialogue delivery and expressions in 'Pedda Nanna' character. Also Posani entertained to a lot in second half and his 'Chocloate' episode stands tall.

Charmi sizzled in 'Yevvaramantey Elurey' song with nice moves but that lacks an impact as she got no big dance moves.

Off-Screen:

Director V V Vinayak is a proved gun when it comes to delivering pure entertainment. Irrespective of the simple story line he has taken up, he enthrals one and all with his stunning dynamism in handling both action and comedy. Each and every minute, you will feel the kick from Vinayak's direction while watching Nayak.

Coming to others, cinematography needs a mention and the man Chota K Naidu once again proves that he is the king of filming a commercial cinema. Akula Siva's dialogues are not magical but still they have the punch to make audiences spell bound for two hours. His comedy tracks will take a bigger part in the success of this flick. Songs scored by Thaman are already a hit and his powerful background score sets the right tempo for this flick. All other technical stuff like editing, art and costumes did their best job to support 'Nayak'.

The PLUSES:

  • · Charan's body language, dances and fights
  • · Visual treat of 'Laila o Laila', 'Subhalekha Rasukunna' and 'Hey Nayak' songs
  • · Amala Paul's glamour and Kajal's looks
  • · Jayaprakash Reddy's striking comedy in first half
  • · Action part in second half

The MINUSES:

For entertainment lovers this movie is a perfect package, but for thrill seekers there are few black holes.

  • · Simple storyline with no twists
  • · Logical errors in action scenes

BREAKDOWN :

Vinayak has once again proved that there is no need of big twisted story and there is no need to give unnecessary messages to entertain audience. But a director of his calibre with such a powerful hero in hand might have taken a big story too, which otherwise also this film will be 'power packed' treat for Pongal. Vinayak and Charan made it clear that they are here to entertain audiences for two and half hours with all right ingredients.

Generally Vinayak's films have spectacular action episodes that shock us. But in this flick, the action episodes are quite simple while Charan looks highly energetic. Slightly different approach might have given more tempo to those regular fights. On the other side, comedy is a stunning package in this movie that will make you bump out of seats for every ten minutes.

One thing is clear that Charan wants to become a pakka-mass-masala hero and that is why he has taken up 'Racha' earlier and 'Nayak' now. Good comedy, decent fights, interesting dances and powerful emotions are something he is wonderful at. Like those other families of Tollywood, Charan too started highlighting his family and their heroes. Couple of scenes where he talks about Pawan Kalyan and uses Pawan's Gabbar Singh videos make fans go berserk, while others feel little bore.

Speaking on story, there is nothing that takes you to a different world but the right mixing of all ingredients will make 'Nayak' a winner at Box Office.

The FINISHING Line: Best spicy treat for Sankranthi!!!
