Hero Nani is on track to score a Double Hat-trick after five back-to-back hits. So, One can understand how crucial the Box Office result of 'Nenu Local' is going to be for him. Director Trinadha Rao of 'Cinema Choopista Mama' fame & Producer Dil Raju joined hands for this full-filled entertainer. Pairing of Nani & Keerthy Suresh generated tremendous buzz already. Has 'Nenu Local' met the expectations?
Babu (Nani), an aimless youth, falls in love with Keerthy (Keerthy Suresh) and succeeds in winning her heart after many trails. Just when Keerthy was planning to express her love, Inspector Siddharth (Naveen Chandra) enters the scene as the Groom selected by her Dad (Sachin Khadekar) to marry her. How does Babu convince Keerthy's Dad that he is the soulmate of his Daughter forms the rest of the tale!
What can be say about Nani's Performance? Once again, He stood as a huge asset and the range of the movie increased with his mere presence. Particularly, He excelled in the Climax block. At times, Over-confidence could be noticed in his dialogue delivery. That's the only noticeable flaw.
Keerthy Suresh appears chubby but impresses big time with her expressive face. Once again, She does the role of a traditional girl and comes out with flying colors.
Naveen Chandra does a fine job. Director could have etched his role in a much better way. The same can be said about Sachin Khadekar. Although he performed well, This character wasn't something he should have done. Posani, Eshwari Rao & Tulasi did complete justice to their roles.
Predictable & Illogical Scenes
Couple of songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad were trendy. 'Next Enti' & 'Ekkada Ekkada' stand out in the album. Rest of the tunes were just okay. Background Score is good but nothing special. Nizar Shafi's Camera Work is colorful. Dialogues were entertaining. Production Values are up to the standards of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Director Trinadha Rao picked up a routine subject but ensured the Screenplay is racy enough. He obtained the best possible output from his Team. Youth & Masses were targeted by him with 'Nenu Local'.
'Stop searching for Logic' - That's the first thing one has to do while stepping into the theaters of 'Nenu Local'. Why because, One can't enjoy the movie as long as he/she starts pointing out the illogical scenes. Hero wanders aimlessly after completion of B.Tech until he comes across a traditional girl Keerthy and falls in love. Thereafter, He starts wooing her, joins the same college and even his parents backs his decision. When the Heroine asks him to convince her Father first to marry her, Hero makes it clear he won't change his lifestyle/mindset for anyone and continues to be irresponsible. In the end, Some how everyone gets convinced by his approach and that's all about this entertainer.
Other aspect to keep in mind - Don't search for freshness in 'Nenu Local'. We has seen films made with similar story aplenty till date. Although the story is age old, Racy Screenplay makes 'Nenu Local' worth a watch. Dialogues were well-written. They were very entertaining and the command of the Director on comedy is clearly visible.
What works for 'Nenu Local' is the chemistry of Lead Pair & their performances. While Nani entertains with his trademark comic timing, Keerthy Suresh wins hearts with her cute expressions. Had if better care was taken for roles of Naveen Chandra and Sachin Khadekar, The end result could have been lot better.
Its Nani's Show in the First Half. Apart from Youth, Even Masses were targeted this time with scenes elevating Heroism. Love Track of lead pair in First Half has come out well. Scenes of Nani & Keerthy Suresh remain as a highlight even in the Second Half. Climax stood as a major attraction. Nani steals the show here with his dialogue delivery & performance. Overall, 'Nenu Local' is a time-pass fare.
Bottom Line: A Pop-Corn Entertainer!
