Are Young And New Directors Unable To Entertain Audiences?

This is a very pertinent question today. People who regularly go to theatres or who try to find out which film has more entertaining value that they can watch on weekend, are unable to get their ticket worth.

It is highly normal to see films that fail to entertain as we see 2 out of 10 failing every month. Even in olden days, we used to see the success rate not more than 25% or 30%. Sr. NTR too had a first day first show flop like Kadeddulu Ekaram Nela.

Such kind of movies that promise to entertain us and then fail, scare off people from coming to theaters. No, matter how much critics praise a film, they will wait for other avenues to play the film than them going to a theatre.

This year we saw Srinivasa Kalyanam, NOTA, KrishnaArjuna Yuddham, Savyasachi, Adhugo, 24 Kisses and so many more that promised one thing and then failed to deliver on the promise.

Srininivasa Kalyanam came with a huge hype of Dil Raju production and Satish Vegnesna who directed Shatamanam Bhavathi, directing the movie also caught the attention of public. But from first day morning show, movie is treated as a failure of highest order.

Same case with NOTA and KrishnaArjuna Yuddham. Both films had huge successful films to follow and star value of their lead actors was huge too. Both of them remained big disappointments for Vijay Devarakonda and Nani fans.

Savyasachi attracted mainly with trailers and the concept. But failed to deliver. Adhugo seemed a good comedy children's movie but came out all weird. Now, 24 Kisses promised to tell a love story with an expression of love - kissing as main plot.

But that seemed a bad idea. To add to all these films, Agnyathavasi has been the huge disaster that even cult fans of Pawan Kalyan hated with their guts. But the movie came from an experienced director like Trivikram Srinivas who bounced back immediately.

But others mentioned above are not as successful as Trivikram or such experienced. Merlapaka Gandhi, Chandoo Mondeti are still at their third film. 24 Kisses director is not widely known before the movie and now, he seems to have put his career further in jeopardy.

Ravi Babu is said to have lost most of his hard earned money on Adhugo and Satish Vegnesna might get another chance, courtesy Dil Raju. On the whole, young directors who seemed to be taking the mantle from seniors forward disappointed many this year, very badly!
