Afterrn back-to-back hits (Yemaindhi Ee Vela, Racha), Sampath Nandi waited for 2rn years to get hold of 'Gabbar Singh 2' but that didn't workout. Soon, Hern approached Raviteja with the story of 'Bengal Tiger' and the project rnwent on floors within just a couple of months. With the publicity rnmaterial, Sampath Nandi prepared the audience regarding what they can rnexpect from this commercial flick. How good is 'Bengal Tiger' & whatrn about its Box Office fate?

Synopsis:

Akashrn Narayan (Raviteja) decides to become famous out of anger after he gets rnrejected by a girl whom he wishes to marry. He targets a Minister duringrn a political rally, eventually this incident helps him fall in the eyes rnof Home Minister (Rao Ramesh). That's when Akash manages to enter Home rnMinister's Coterie and his Daughter Shraddha (Rashi Khanna) falls in rnlove with him. When the Home Minister was about to make an official rnannouncement about their wedding, Akash shocks everyone by declaring he rnis in love with Chief Minister Boman Irani's Daughter Meera (Tamanna). rnWhen did Akash love Meera? Are Akash & CM rivals? What's the past ofrn Akash? All these forms the rest of the tale.

Performances:

Notrn just story & screenplay, One can't find any freshness in the way rnRaviteja's characterization was dealt. Such roles were tailor made for rnMassraja and he offers what fans expect from him. His look is better rnthan 'Kick 2' but losing excess weight made his look odd in few scenes. rnThere is nothing to complain about his energy levels though.

Bothrn Tamanna and Rashi Khanna don't have much to do in terms of acting but rnthey made their presence felt with skin show. While Tamanna excelled in rn'Choopulatho Deepala' song, Rashi offers visual feast by donning a rnbikini.

Boman Irani, an actor with immense talent, was wasted. rn30 Years Pruthvi rocked as Future Star Siddappa and the Viswaroopam rnscene was fabulous. Posani is equally impressive. Brahmi wasn't rnaffective as Amala Paul. Rao Ramesh, Shayaji Shinde, Nagineedu, rnTanikella Bharani and Others have done justice to their roles.

Pros:

Raviteja

Pruthvi's Comic Relief

Glamorous Heroines

Cons:

Illogical Scenes

Flashback

Technicalities:

Songsrn composed by Bheems will hit the right chord with masses. Chinna's BGM rnis nothing special. Cinematography by Soundar Rajan is top class, rnespecially in Choopulake Deepala song & Action Blocks. Art Directionrn is worth mentioning. Editing is okay. Director Sampath Nandi rnincorporated all the commercial ingredients in the story but the rnexecution in the Second Half could have been far better. Production rnValues were grand.

Analysis:

Firstrn things first, 'Bengal Tiger' is an out and out mass entertainer. Those rnwho doesn't bother about logic or freshness will find this commercial rnpotboiler entertaining. Director Sampath Nandi showed there is no limit rnfor cinematic liberty and anything can be done as a filmmaker.

Thern same old format 'Entertaining First Half - Interval Twist - Flashback rnin Second Half - Revenge in Climax' has been used in the case of 'Bengalrn Tiger'. One gets the feeling, Its a mixture of 'Don Seenu' & rn'Racha' after watching few scenes. There is nothing noteworthy in the rnstory and even the interval twist wasn't mind blowing either. The major rnasset for the movie is the comedy episodes in the First Half which is rnentertaining and racy. Raviteja's combination scenes with Pruthvi as rnFuture Star and Posani as Celebrity Sastri were hilarious.

Not rnhaving good comic relief in the Second Half could be a drawback. Even rnBrahmanandam's role as Amala Paul didn't work. Viewers find Hero's rnFlashback, The scene were he conspires to book Villains and Climax look rnroutine. Glamour show of Tamanna and Rashi Khanna is the only saviour inrn the Second Half. Ample mass masala elements could make few sections of rnaudience embrace 'Bengal Tiger'.

Bottom Line: Routine Fare!
