Why Censor Board rejected Padmavati?
X
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) found the application sent by 'Padmavati' Makers for the Censor Screening 'incomplete'. So, Application is being sent back to the Producer seeking necessary corrections. Once the Makers re-apply for the certification, CBFC will scrutinize the application before the screening.

'Padmavati' was submitted for Censor certificate last Friday and the application is being turned down after a week. As per rules, Censor Board can take 61 days to take a decision of issuing clearance to any film.

Post the rejection of Application, It appears like 'Padmavati' mayn't release on December 1st. Why because, The application will be placed in a queue when its been reapplied and this is a time taking process.

'Padmavati' is based on the 13th Century Queen Padmini of Chittor. Rajput Groups have been against this historical subject as they feel romantic relationship between the Queen and Emperor Alauddin Khilji is untrue. They threatened to call for Bharat Bandh, vandalise theaters and cut off Deepika's nose.
