Raghuvaran fails in his sequel, VIP2!

VIP2 is the most awaited movie in Tamil and even the fans of Dhanush and Raghuvaran B.Tech are highly waiting for this movie. Addition of Kajol to the cast and VIP being a brand added to the buzz of the movie. The movie released in Tamil for Independence Day weekend and it became a flop at the box office. Critics and common audience have panned the efforts of the writer and producer, Dhanush and also the director of the movie, Soundarya Rajnikanth is receiving slack for her work.
Many are suggesting that the magic of VIP is the simplicity and the character of Raghuvaran but this time Dhanush did not recapture the magic of the earlier part like many wished he could. Many people also commented that Kajol did not impress has her character did not have much to do other than being another version of Ramyakrishna's Neelambari. Also, many have expressed that Dhanush tried to mimic Rajnikanth for most part and that did not suit him in the character.
Several fans on social media suggested that Sean Ronald could not handle the big project like Anirudh Ravichandran. VIP had an advantage of his music and back ground score but the second part did not have him on board due to his busy schedule and also Dhanush's decision to give Sean Ronald, a chance. The trade pundits have declared that the movie can only survive the long weekend and Dhanush's wait for hit continues. The Telugu release has been scheduled soon and we have to see how Telugu people will like the movie, now!
