Sunil had a good start as Hero with successful films such as 'Andala Ramudu', 'Maryada Ramanna' and 'Poolarangadu'. Post 'Thadakha', The Box Office results haven't gone his way & choice of films has come under severe criticism. Teaming up with Director Veeru Potla who have a good command on comedy generated good buzz for 'Eedu Gold Ehe'. Even the promos and glam show of female leads made everyone believe this could be the big hit Sunil has been waiting for all these days. Did this movie live up to the expectations?

Synopsis:

Bangarraju (Sunil) is an innocent & good-hearted person but whoever offers him job ends up landing in trouble. One fine day, He leaves for Hyderabad after testing his luck with few odd jobs. That's where, Bangarraju meets an elderly woman who treats him like his son and this bond helps him bag a job. Twist in the tale comes in the form of Sunil Varma who is Bangarraju lookalike. Sunil Varma robs Diamond-studded Idol from Mafia Don's House. Since then, The Gang Members chase Bangarraju for the costly idol. Are Bangarraju and Sunil Varma twins? (or) Sunil Varma is just an another angle of Bangarraju? Watch 'Eedu Gold Ehe' to know more..!

Performances:

Sunil changed his style a bit for 'Eedu Gold Ehe'. He refrained from unnecessary build-ups and tried to do what was required for the character. However, The kind of comedy one expect from him is missing. He is just okay in this new outing.

Sushma Raj and Richa Panai competed in skin show. Out of the two, Sushma Raj have an upper hand and she suits low/medium budget mass masala flicks. Richa Panai is alright. None of the Heroines have prominent roles and they were used mainly for glamour.

Pruthvi, Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar tickle the funny bone. Posani manages to generate laugh to some extent. Aravind Krishna failed to leave his mark with negative role. Rest of the cast were adequate.

Pros:

Glam Show

Dialogues

Short Run Time

Cons:

Music

Screenplay

Illogical Scenes

Technicalities:

Music composed by Sagar M.Sharma (S/O Manisharma) is ordinary and none of the songs are appreciable. Even Background Score is just okay. Camera Work by Devaraj is decent. Production Values are good. Veeru Potla mayn't have done enough home work for this project. Screenplay isn't gripping enough. He, however, leave his mark in the Dialogue version. Some of the oneliners penned by him were hilarious. One must say, 'Eedu Gold Ehe' couldn't meet the standards set by his past films.

Analysis:

Two Major Complaints on Sunil's recent films is lack of freshness and his mass hero build-ups. Compared to his past three films, 'Eedu Gold Ehe' is much better in both these aspects. At the same time, Don't expect it to be out-of-the-box and laugh riot.

Veeru Potla got a good comic timing and have the knack of generating humor with dialogues. He, however, failed to provide a taut screenplay for 'Eedu Gold Ehe'. Illogical scenes add more trouble. Hence, Audience don't involve much in the movie.

Characterization of Hero isn't strong enough and Viewers don't connect with him at all. Even the laughing buddha concept isn't exciting enough. Robbery of the Rs 900 crore idol was executed in a silly manner. The emotional scenes in the combination of Sunil & Jayasudha look forced. Whereas, Romantic Tracks with Heroines weren't etched well.

For those who doesn't bother about logic, 'Eedu Gold Ehe' could be a time pass fare. Veeru Potla made good use of Pruthvi, Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar. Even the Dialogues written by him generate humor. First of the movie is entertaining in bits and parts. Second Half is a let down. There is nothing much in this half except for the Farmhouse episode. Short Run Time could come in handy. Action Sequences are routine. The Climax Twist isn't shocking either and hampers the overall impact. Overall, 'Eedu Gold Ehe' could cater to the requirements of B and C Centers to some extent.

Bottom Line: Nothing Special!
