'Arjun Reddy' fetched unbelievable image for Vijay Devarakonda. This is why movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for his new releases. 'Geetha Govindham' which is carrying tremendous positive buzz released Today. Let's see if this Romantic Entertainer lives up to the expectations or not...

Synopsis:

Vijay Govind (Vijay Devarakonda), a College Lecturer, falls in love with Geetha (Rashmika). Due to his misfortune, Geetha gets a bad impression on Vijay after an incident. Situations prompt Vijay and Geetha to travel together. How did their journey end forms rest of the tale?

Performances:

Vijay Devarakonda mesmerizes once again with his acting prowess. The Flamboyant Actor showed how versatile he can be by portraying such a soft character after 'Arjun Reddy' in a endearing manner. Hats off to the way he got into the skin of the character and excelled in emotional scenes. Special mention for his comic timing which entertained thoroughly.

Rashmika Mandana did a good job but her expressions become repetitive after a point. Make-up & Costumes aren't good enough in few scenes.

Vennela Kishore and Rahul Ramakrishna are too good in their respective roles. Annapurna leaves a mark of her own. Subbaraju, Nagababu and Others have done a fine job.

Pros:

Vijay Devarakonda

Chemistry Of Lead Pair

Comedy

Cons:

Songs Picturization

Few Routine/Repetitive Scenes

Technicalities:

Songs composed by Gopi Sunder are appreciable. Visually, They aren't so appealing & that's a big drawback. Director failed to capitalize on a good song like 'Inkem Kavale…'. Camera Work by Manikandan is flawless. The whole movie looks so colorful. Production Values of Geetha Arts are good as usual. As Writer-cum-Director, Parasuram showed his speciality while designing the characterizations of Lead Pair. He made use of Vijay Devarakonda to the fullest in this out & out youthful flick. Though the conflict point is simple, Director scored brownie points by presenting Vijay Devarakonda differently.

Analysis:

All the successful films mayn't have a great story but having a good screenplay could have worked in their favour. This analysis is apt in the case of 'Geetha Govindam' as well. Casting of Vijay Devarakonda as the Male Lead is the special attraction in this movie. This Young Actor carried the whole movie on his shoulders and contributed so much to overcome the shortcomings. Though there are complaints of simple conflict point & repetitive scenes, 'Geetha Govindam' is engaging till the very end.

Vijay Devarakonda appears as flamboyant and sex maniac in 'Arjun Reddy'. Watching him in 'Geetha Govindam' will be a pleasant surprise as nobody would have expected him to do such a soft character so quickly. Transformation from Arjun Reddy to Vijay is brilliant to say the least. That's something Youth will be crazy about after watching the movie.

Parasuram choose a wafer-thin storyline. More than the story, The focus is on the characterizations of Actors. Combinations scenes of Hero & Heroine are a major attraction in the movie. Vijay Devarakonda entertains so much with his innocence and comic timing.

While the First Half is targeted at Youth, Second Half is aimed at Family Audience. Few scenes in the Second Half have lag. The way Heroine falls in love with Heroine wasn't presented convincingly. Even the reasons quoted for separation of Hero & Heroine doesn't appear fair enough. This is where Vennela Kishore takes the lead to bring the film on the right track. Comedy Track of Vennela Kishore & Annapurna is hilarious. Director ends the Movie on a lighter note, that strategy worked so effectively. Audience will step out of theaters with a nice feeling after watching 'Geetha Govindam'.

Bottom Line: Vijay's One Man Show!
