Boyapati Seenu, a specialist at delivering Mass Entertainers, took up the challenge of making 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' with an upcoming hero. How different this subject is going to be from films he directed till 'Sarrainodu'? Let's see...

Synopsis:

Gagan (Bellamkonda Srinivas) is the son of Industrialist Chakravathy (Sarath Kumar). His Father and Elder Brother (Nandu) are everything to him. Sweety (Rakul Preet Singh) gets smitten by Gagan and changes the men in his house completely with her entry. Gagan and Sweety fall in love during the course of time. But, Sweety's Father disapproves their relationship and Gagan sacrifices his love. Gagan comes to know that Sweety's Life is in danger. To what extent Gagan & her Family had gone to save Sweety forms rest of the tale.

Performances:

Boyapati designed the characterization of Bellamkonda Srinivas to suit his body language. He is very impressive in action sequences and dances. Though he did well in few emotional sequences, Bellamkonda hardly emoted in few other scenes but his confidence levels will be applauded.

Rakul Preet Singh essays the role with Two Dimensions. While she is like a free bird in the First Half, A drastic contrast can be seen in the Second Half. This could be the best role in Rakul's career so far.

Jagapathi Babu looks damn stylish & his introduction scenes are worth mentioning. Sarath Kumar does a pretty good job. Vani Viswanath made a comeback after a long gap but her role doesn't have much importance. Tarun Arora is very impressive as Antagonist.

Pragya Jaiswal creates a good impression with glamour show. Though Catherine's Item Song is being shot well, It appeared like a forcible inclusion meant just to please few sections of audience.

Pros:

Interval Block

Hamsaladeevi Episode

Production Values

Cons:

Lack of Comedy

Vani Viswanath's Role

Overdose of Action

Technicalities:

Songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad are just okay. 'Nuvvele' & 'Veede Veede' are the best tracks in the album. DSP showed his potential yet again with superb Background Score. Picturization of songs is pretty good. Camera Work by Rishi Punjabi is a huge asset. Dialogues by Ratnam are fine. Production Values are lavish. Notable Actors have been cast even for blink n miss roles. Budget invested on this project could be seen on the screen. It's not true that Boyapati choose a completely different subject from his previous films but he left a mark of his own. His sincerity in presenting Bellamkonda like a star material is evident. Yet again, The Filmmaker shows his command on action and emotional scenes.

Analysis:

Boyapati Seenu is a specialist at making mass masala entertainers. Whoever might be the hero, He is capable of leaving a mark of his own and offers what audience expect from him. Even 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' fits in the same slot. Though Bellamkonda Srinivas doesn't have any image, Boyapati elevated the hero-elevation scenes to a whole new level. While a section of people might find few scenes and action blocks over-the-top, Mass Audience would thoroughly enjoy them. Makers haven't compromised on the budget or quality though the hero doesn't have a big market. Within the limitation he have, Boyapati narrated a routine story on a grand level. This film is for those who enjoy Boyapati-mark hero-elevation scenes, action sequences and songs.

In his interviews, Boyapati keeps saying his Hero would start the fight when the audience feel this is the right time to hit the goons. Initially, He creates the required mood for high-dose of action/emotion and makes the protagonist explode like a dynamite when the time arrives. He followed the same strategy for 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' as well.

Boyapati Seenu established the potential of Bellamkonda in the beginning itself to ensure audience connect with his hero-elevation scenes. He moulded the Young Hero so well to give an impression that audience could see a protector in him. Masses will have a blast watching the action sequence during Interval, Hamsaladeevi Episode and Climax.

The entire story revolves around the character of Heroine. How Rakul Preet Singh gets affected by the rivalry between Jagapathi Babu & Tarun Arora is being established very effectively. Actually, This is the novel point in this subject. Grandeur throughout the movie doesn't give an impression that Bellamkonda is a budding hero. Of course, Lack of comedy is the major drawback. On a finishing note, 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' offers everything audience expect from a Boyapati Film.

Bottom Line: Boyapati-mark Entertainer!
