Nikhilrn choose less travelled path since 'Swamy Ra Ra' which was directed by rnSudheer Varma. So, One could understand how crucial that movie has been rnin the career of this Young Hero. Once again, Nikhil and Sudheer Varma rnteamed up to offer an unconventional movie. Posters & Promos of rn'Keshava' have generated tremendous positive buzz around this revenge rndrama. Let's see if the end product is as good as the promotional rnmaterial...

Synopsis:

Keshavarn (Nikhil), a Law College Student with a rare medical condition (who's rnheart is on the right side) which means any emotion including anger rn& excitement puts his life at risk. The only mission of Keshava is rnto get rid of the cops who were behind the death of his Parents and rnparalyzing of his Sister. Cops nab Keshava after the murder of two rnpolicemen. How he executes his plans after getting caught forms the restrn of the tale!

Performances:

Nikhilrn has given his career best performance by carrying the movie on his rnshoulders till the very end. A hyper actor like Nikhil attempting a rolern which demands calmness & emotional-less portrayal isn't a joke. rnNikhil showed so much maturity and maintained the required intensity rnthroughout the movie.

Ritu Varma did a fine job though she had a rnvery little scope. Isha Koppikar who made a comeback after a very long rngap is alright in the role of a Cop. Rao Ramesh shows his mark once rnagain. Vennela Kishore tickles the funny bone with his trademark comic rntiming. Priyadarsi and Sudarshan does justice to their characters. rnBrahmaji, Ajay, Raja Ravindra, Ravi Prakash and Jeeva have been rnadequate.

Pros:

Nikhil

Background Score

Camera Work

Climax

Cons:

Heart Disorder neglected

Second Half

Technicalities:

Allrn the Technicians have put in their heart and soul for 'Keshava'. Though rnSongs of Sunny MR are decent, BGM composed by Prasanth Pillai stood as rnan asset. New kind of composition and intensity took the crucial scenes rnto a whole new level. Cinematography by Diwakar Mani is splendid. Camerarn Angles & Aerial Shots offer a new experience to the viewers. rnDialogues were well-written. Producer Abhishek Nama hasn't compromised rnon Production Values. Sudheer Varma was given enough freedom to bring rnhis vision on the big screen. Though 'Dochay' disappointed, He is back rnto his best with 'Keshava' and left a mark of his own. The expertise of rnthe Filmmaker is evident in many sequences. He, however, doesn't impressrn much with his writing skills. Had if the script was more compact, rn'Keshava' could have been a much better product.

Analysis:

Storyrn of 'Keshava' is just alike any other Revenge Drama but the presentationrn of it makes the difference. Inspite of not having many twists n turns, rnWhat makes it work is Nikhil's matured performance, stylish narration rn& high technical values.

Sudheer Varma showed how normal rnscenes can be narrated in an exciting or thrilling manner. Especially, rnThe Technical Team deserves all the praise for the way murders of cops rnhas been designed & executed. While Background Score is pulsating, rnCamera Work is beyond the expectations.

Although 'Keshava' is a rnserious subject, Sudheer Varma included good dose of Comedy Quotient. rnThe college-backdrop scenes featuring Vennela Kishore are a laugh riot. rnEven the placement of Comedy Scenes is perfect.

Nikhil's Intensern Performance is worth mentioning but Director failed to make the most rnout of his heart ailment. First Half of 'Keshava' is gripping. However, rnSudheer Varma wasn't able to maintain the same standards in Second Half.rn The sequence where the Protagonist escapes from Police looks rnunconvincing. Director took cinematic liberties as per his convenience rnand hence logic goes for a toss at times. Full marks to Climax Twist andrn justification was given to revenge drama in the ended. Even the short rnrun time worked in the favor of the movie. Over all, 'Keshava' is rnwatchable but it have few shortcomings as well.

Bottom Line: A Gripping Revenge Drama!
