MAA Is A Complete Failure: Babu Gogineni

Babu Gogineni is popular among the Telugu people as a humanist. He is known for his rationalist approach and he never steps back in condemning superstitions. Many people surprised when Babu Gogineni attended the debates of Sri Reddy episode that are going on in the TV channels. Babu has expressed his solidarity with the women who are at the receiving end due to the casting couch issue. In a recent interview, he shared why he supported Sri Reddy cause.

He said that he reacted to the issue as there is a human rights violation in the whole episode and everybody was targeting Sri Reddy when he came up to speak up for her. He said that "Sri Reddy raised the issue initially and she gave ample time to MAA to respond. But as an institution, MAA has completely failed morally, legally in addressing a serious issue raised by an actress. He said that from the time she came out and revealed her ordeals until MAA imposed a ban on her, MAA had sufficient time to address the issue. MAA should have taken correct steps in that period."

He said that "Criminality is part of human society. When we have an institution it should address the issues. If a person brought a mistake to the notice of that institution it should respond to that. The response of the institution is a crucial thing. MAA organisation leaders have completely failed in giving this response morally, legally. They have spurned their responsibility. Mistakes happen everywhere but the people who have the power to address the issue to solve should take that responsibility."
