Mahesh Babu used to sign the projects based on his gut feel either based on the story line or trusting the ability of the Director until 'Spyder' failure. He realized that's not the right way to approach a project after repetitive failures in the past 3-4 years.
Directors who have been approaching Mahesh Babu for narrating stories were asked to come only with bound scripts. Superstar is in no mood to okay projects based on the narration that lasts for few minutes.
Budgets of films such as 'Brahmotsavam' and 'Spyder' has gone beyond estimates due to lack of bound scripts. Even the outcome wasn't on par with the visualization Mahesh had during the narration. All these factors prompted Superstar to make some tough decisions in the best interest of Producers, Distributors and Exhibitors. This is a wake up call for Directors who wish to work with Mahesh Babu in future.
