Unwanted Competition Between Pawan-Mahesh

Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu are considered as biggest stars in Tollywood by the majority of the audience even though Prabhas is also in the same league. Surprisingly, Pawan and Mahesh have a unique similarity when it comes to the pre-release business of their films. Irrespective of their past record, there will be a mad rush for buying the rights of their latest films.

Every time they beat their own records in when it comes to pre-release business figures. It will be always pleasing to hear the huge numbers for their fans but the collection figures of their films are giving sleepless nights to the buyers and distributors. If we talk about Mahesh Babu's last five films.. except Srimanthudu, all the other four(1-Nenokkadine, Aagadu, Brahmotsavam, Spyder) turned out to be huge disasters at the box office. Each and every film is a bigger disaster than the previous one. Mahesh Babu's last film 'Spyder' went on to create a record as the biggest disaster in South with nearly Rs.70 crore loss.

On the other hand, Pawan is not lagging behind Mahesh in delivering disasters. His last two films 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' and 'Katama Rayudu' turned out to be disasters at the box office incurring more than Rs.25 crore losses for each film. His latest outing 'Agnyaathavaasi' rights were sold for exuberant prices and trade analysts predicting that it is going to be a disaster and they are estimating more than Rs.50 crore loss(The actual figures may be higher than the estimates). In this way, Pawan is giving tough competition to Mahesh Babu.
