Mani Ratnam is concentrating on making box office winners again after trying out some experiments.
He claimed his share at the box office with romantic film OK Bangaram/ OK Kanmani. His next attempt at romantic genre, Cheliyaa/Katru Veliyidai failed at the box office.
Now, the maker is back to action genre with Nawab/Chekka Chevantha Vanam in Telugu/Tamil. The movie has no buzz in Telugu with famous stars in the cast, movie has a great buzz in Tamil.
Promotions in Telugu could start days before release and it is releasing on 27th September.
Buzz from Kollywood sources is that the movie will follow Godfather format to tell a satire story on current politics in Tamil Nadu it seems.
To avoid any sort of controversies, Mani Ratnam is not really coming out and promoting it as much as he did for his early movies it seems. If the maker gets to form the film would be another great take on politics like Iruvar/Iddaru!
