Three Heroes Rejected Geetha Govindam

Judging a story is never going to be easy. Most Heroes doesn't want to take the risk of working with Directors who are yet to create a solid market. This is one area where upcoming Heroes can capitalize to emerge as Stars. That's exactly what happened in the case of 'Geetha Govindam'. Vijay Devarakonda wasn't the first choice to play lead in this project. If the buzz is true, Makers had approached Nani, Naga Chaitanya and Sharwanand.
When Parasuram narrated the story of 'Geetha Govindam' to Bunny Vas, A search operation was launched for the hero but none of the Actors approached by the production house offered their consent. So, Parasuram made 'Srirastu Subhamastu' leaving aside this project. Upon Allu Arjun's insistence, Vijay Devarakonda okayed the project half-heartedly. Heroine was replaced after shooting few portions. Few scenes were changed after 'Arjun Reddy' release. Corrections have been made to meet the expectations at multiple stages. There was a discussion on the release dates of 'Geetha Govindam' and 'Taxiwala'. Finally, Vijay's Father got convinced that 'Geetha Govindam' has to release first. In the meantime, An Assistant Director complained his story was snatched and pre-release piracy happened.
Finally, Only Rs 5 crore recovery happened for a movie made on Rs 14 crore budget. Mostly, Geetha Arts planned own release. Today, 'Geetha Govindam' has become a big hit than anyone has thought.
