People Shouldn't Take Money And Vote - Rajamouli

SS Rajamouli at Harvard University participated as a guest at an annual conference and then spoke to media about his experience.
He said, "I never thought I will be this respected and will be in this position when I started making Santhinivasam serial. Not that I am at a bigger place but this is a better position than where and how I started.
I feel responsible with this popularity and the kind of respect that the people are giving to me. I always wish for a better society and when I was working with Jayaprakash Narayana for Lok Satta, I felt politicians were bad.
If we change them, I thought situations and politics will change. But now, I understood that politicians are like us and they are not symbol of bad in society.
When we take money and vote, we can't ask them to be honest and selfless too. People should start the change they want to see in others. But unfortunately, we are not in that zone of realisation."
He talked about his films being based on emotions and hence, having an universal appeal. "My films always will be about human emotions. I am good at understanding Indian people emotions and hence, I can make a film based on them.
But if I have to make a movie in English or for audiences in Europe or USA, my thought process and emotions should be different. Also, our films should release in those countries to have a look at how they react to our films.
I did not make Baahubali or Eega with North Indians or Japanese in mind. Asians all have similar thought process mostly and similar emotions, hence Baahubali could win people's hearts in Japan.
I can't talk about RRR yet, but it will also be based om emotions only. I won't keep everything secret like Baahubali but this is not the time to reveal things as well," concluded SS Rajamouli.
