Biopic is the ongoing trend in Bollywood. However, the number of biopicd are comparatively less in Tollywood. The only biopic that is gearing up to hit the theatres is none other than Mahanati. As the movie is a high budget flick with star cast, expectations on this movies among the Telugu audience are very high.
Beautiful actress Keerthi Suresh is playing the title role in Mahanati. Star heroine Samantha is also playing a vital role. The makers initially thought of hiring Sam for the title role. Senior producer Ashwini Dutt's daughter Swapna Dutt herself revealed this news in a latest interview. Samantha even signed to play the title role but director Nag Ashwin felt that it would be nice if the role is done by a new heroine which made Keerthi Suresh to replace Samantha's role. Swapna Dutt stated that Keerthi Suresh was not that popular when She signed this project. During the shooting of Mahanati, other films of Keerthi got released and became hit which made her popular. Samantha who agreed with the director's decision took up a vital role instead of the title role.
Malayalam Hero Dulquer Salman is playing the role of Savitri's husband Gemini Ganesan in this movie. Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey is playing Jamuna's role and Young hero Vijay Devarakonda is also playing a vital role. This trilingual movie is going to get released in Telugu, Malayalam as well as Tamil languages.
