Kshanam, a film from Telugu Cinema that attracted more audience to theatres last year just on the power of content. With more of than half of the cast literally unknowns, the movie did pull off some amazing profits for distributors and also earned critical approval too.
Thus, Adivi Sesh starrer was made on a shoe-string budget of one crore and for promotions the team spent another crore. The movie box office returns were more than eight crores and it was regarded as a blockbuster on return on Investment basis.
The remake rights of the movie were sold for fancy prices in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. Satellite too fetched great deals. In Tamil, the movie rights were bought by Sibi Satyaraj, son of Baahubali's Kattappa, Satyaraj. This actor has been looking for a lucky break at the box office from a decade, and he tried everything to please the Tamil audience.
He tried acting in films along with his famous father, even tried to become a villain but nothing worked. Now, for this remake the director asked him to act in a lip-lock scene with actress, Ramya Nambeesan, but the actor refuses citing his discomfort to watch such scenes with his daughter. The actor opined that his daughter will feel awkward to see him kiss on scene and that will make him uncomfortable to face her. So he asked the director to drop his idea.
