AR Rahman won twin awards for his musical score in MOM and Kaatru Veliyidai aka Cheliya.
The legendary composer talked about the wins and the two films in a recent interview. He said, "I am grateful to God for giving me such chances and the accolades. I can't thank him enough for the all fortune he bestowed upon me."
About MOM, he said, "I admire Sridevi as an actress a lot. She came to Chennai and my studio one day. She asked me work for the movie, MOM as she wanted work with me from a long time. On her insistence I did the film. It is a special one for me and the score is special too.
"She acted brilliantly in the movie and losing her so early is unfortunate. I enjoyed watching her performance in the movie," said the composer.
On Katru Veliyidai, he said, "I always enjoying composing sessions with Mani Ratnam. He is my Guru and he takes any tune from me and finds some freshness in it to use it. He gave me my first chance in Film World and I can never forget that."
He further talked about Shankar's 2.0 and said, "2.0 has many experiments and it is a revolution in sound design. I hope people will like it. I am really excited about it as it is demanding film mainly for Background score."
