Can These Two Directors Revive?

Telugu Cinema Industry is no stranger to few directors finding their success for a period of time and then losing everything just in matter of films in a jiffy. Very rarely, a director like K. Raghavendra Rao who stayed relevant for over four decades could be seen but he too is struggling these days. Right from L.V Prasad, Balachander, Bharatiraja, Mani Ratnam to V.V.Vinayak and Srinu Vaitla, no one is exception for this.

When it comes to V.V.Vinayak and Vaitla Srinu, they might have blockbusters and trendsetters on their name but these days they are not even approached by their friends in producers to make a movie. V.V.Vinayak did make a blockbuster like Khaidi No.150, recently, but the director did not receive any credit for this remake. Many box office pundits and critics have attributed the success to Megastar Chiranjeevi's star power and his undeniable charisma. To see him back on screen after 9 years, people came to the theatres rather than for the film being another Tagore, a far better film from the combination.

Now, the director is trying hard to convince one or the other hero to make a film with him. Vijayak got used to working on subjects that cater to actor's demands and that has become his weakness now as if he is struggling to find a story that will suit any hero who wants to make a movie with him. On the other hand, Srinu Vaitla, had got accustomed to huge success and then a slide in his career but this time he seems to have no way of recovery.

His Bruce Lee has been unanimously panned by critics and audience alike. Before that Aagadu too saw not many takers. Srinu Vaitla promised that he will update himself but after watching his, Mister, many thought the director also lost power to discreet between a good scene and funny one. His story selection too became too old, so his future seems to be dark at this point of time.

Well, these two were the brightest directors of last decade with Puri Jagannath, Trivikram Srinivas and SS Rajamouli. While Rajamouli has leaped way ahead of everyone with Baahubali franchise, Puri has completely fallen into abyss still holding to one last hope of revival with Nandamuri Balakrishna's film. Trivikram Srinivas has actually grown in stature this decade more than last but he belongs to the ir generation of filmmakers. Can these two revive themselves?
