After two months, a big cinema is going to release for the holidays this weekend. Duvvada Jagannadam starring Allu Arjun is now, the hot topic for Trade Pundits as they are busy assessing the various pluses and minuses for the movie from the trade point of view.
Post Baahubali if Telugu Cinema is witnessing a big release then it is definitely, DJ. So the trade is predicting that the movie will do 16-18 crores business on the first day itself. The movie is being released wide in many theatres across Kerala and Karnataka as well. Keeping the market of Allu Arjun in Kerala and common craze for a biggie from Telugu in Karnataka, the trade pundits are saying that the movie should collect around 22 to 25 crores from Indian markets.
Also, as this is a solo release in Overseas and the movie loving audience have a tendency to turn up in huge numbers for a biggie, so the trade is predicting the number to be somewhere around 30 crores on the first day itself. And if the movie can hold to a positive Word of Mouth with the wide release, the trade says that the movie can collect 50 crores in the weekend itself.
Here the clear cut statement is that the movie has a long holiday weekend with EID falling on Monday, most probably and if the movie can cash in on the extended weekend with good content and great Word of Mouth, then the trade is saying that this could be the first biggie after Khaidi No.150, other than Baahubali to score big at the box office.
