Trade Looking For a Monsoon Blockbuster!

Telugu Film Industry is looking for new films to reach the blockbuster status and become the biggest earners of the season before Saaho, Sye Raa come around.

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya could end up as a Super Hit than a huge blockbuster for the season. July and August are seen not great months for Cinemas as the wet season doesn't allow audiences to go to theatres and enjoy the film with the traffic issues to make it all difficult.

But July has been a lucky month for TFI from 5 years. Baahubali is the biggest blockbuster in the month but before Baahubali, Drushyam could collect decent 19 crores share which makes the movie a blockbuster for Venkatesh.

After Baahubali, Pelli Choopulu in 2016, Fidaa in 2017 and RX100 in 2018 became career turning point hits for Vijay Devarakonda, Varun Tej, Sai Pallavi Payal Rajput and Karthikeya.

August saw Geetha Govindam working like a miracle for Vijay Devarakonda in 2018 and before that August has been very hit and miss, month.

Now, as July is being such a lucky month for young heroes or big film at least from last 5 years, trade is expecting that Monsoon blockbuster before Saaho in August to keep the ticket windows going.

This year, we have Vijay Devarakonda coming with Dear Comrade, Samantha Akkineni trying her luck with Oh Baby, Young Rowdy Anand Devarakonda and Rajasekhar's daughter Shivatmika debuting with Dorasani, Ram and Puri Jagannath trying to make a big comeback with Ismart Shankar, Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas trying his luck again with Rakshasudu releasing in July.

We have to wait and see, if all these films or at least one can become that clear cut monsoon blockbuster for trade. This year, Sankranthi season saw Venky and Varun's F2 becoming a blockbuster not letting the season end like 2018 with no success.

Sankranthi deficit was covered by Summer in 2018 but this year Majili, Maharshi only earned profits in few areas. So, the box office is truly due big time.
