Chiranjeevi's Son-in-Law Kalyan Dev made his debut as Hero with 'Vijetha'. Sai Korrapati who have a good reputation in the Industry launched this Youngster under the direction of Rakesh Sasi. What this Launch Pad can offer?
Synopsis:
Srinivas Rao (Murali Sharma) fulfills all the wishes of his Son Ram (Kalyan Dev) since his childhood. But, Ram doesn't realize the sacrifices made by his Father and continues to lead the life in an irresponsible manner. He invests in a small business after all of his attempts to bag a job doesn't yield result. Ram's Father will be left devastated and falls sick after a disturbing incident. How did Ram become responsible and what has he done to earn his Father's trust forms rest of the tale!
Performances:
Kalydev Dev gave a decent performance. He did suit the role of a Youth with whom present generation could connect. There are no scenes which challenge his acting calibre in this movie.
In 'Vijetha', The role of Hero's Father is more important than that of Hero. Murali Sharma has given an award-worthy performance. It was Chiranjeevi who suggested Murali Sharma for this crucial role. This movie will always be special for the senior actor.
Malavika Nair was under-utilized in this movie. Though she did make her presence felt, There isn't much scope for her in this Father-Son tale.
As Hero's Friends, Sudarshan, Kireeti, Noel and Mahesh has done a fine job. Nasser shows his speciality though it's a small role. Jayaprakash, Rajiv Kanakala, Pragathi and Adarsh were adequate.

Technicalities:
'Vijetha' is a film made with good technical values. Songs and BGM composed by Harshavardhan Rameswar are too good. Senthil Kumar of 'Baahubali' fame showed his speciality in this low-budget flick. He succeeded in giving a pleasant feeling through his expertise. Sai Korrapati made the flick look rich though Kalyan Dev is a newbie. Debutante Filmmaker Rakesh Sasi choose an Old Subject and tried to narrate it in a pleasant manner. He dealt the emotional scenes very well. Simplicity he maintained during the narration is very impressive. The spark in him can be noticed in few scenes. He, however, could have avoided few unnecessary scenes and handled the Screenplay in a much better manner.
Analysis:
Generally, Launch Pad of a Hero who is from a big family will be used as a platform to exhibit dancing and fighting skills. Even commercial ingredients will be abundant in such projects. Surprisingly, No such elements can be found in Kalyan Dev's debut movie. Instead of Hero, This Youngster appears just as a character throughout the film. Credit should be given to Kalyan Dev, Megastar and Director for taking such a call.
Several Films based on Father-Son relationship has been made in the past. 'Vijetha' is no way different from those movies but the performance of Murali Sharma stands out. Audience will connect with the emotions & appreciate technical values yet predictability plays the spoilsport. Apart from lack of freshness in the story, Slow-Paced Narration works against the movie.
Director Rakesh Sasi succeeded in making viewers connect with the roles of Father & Son. The simplicity he maintained while introducing characters and narrating every scene deserves special mention. Comedy generated by Hero's Friends and Love Track is alright.
Lack of strong conflict point doesn't excite the viewers much. Comedy Track of Satyam Rajesh and a Fight in Second Half appear unnecessary. Emotional drama in the last 15 minutes is a major highlight of 'Vijetha'. Though the Climax is a bit dramatic, Emotions hit the right chord with the audience. Scenes depicting the Father-Son relationship are dealt well. Overall, 'Vijetha' is for those who enjoy family dramas with good emotional quotient.
Bottom Line: A Unique Launch Pad!
