Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's latest film 'MLA' getting ready for the release soon. It is known that Kalyan Ram's last film 'Ism' released one and a half year ago and was a disappointment at the box office. Though Kalyan Ram received good appreciation for his makeover, Puri Jagannadh's direction completely let the audience down.
After 'Ism', Kalyan Ram took some gap from acting and produced 'Jai Lava Kusa' with NTR. Now, his latest 'MLA' is hitting the screens on March 23. Trade analysts were curious to know about the movie pre-release business because Kalyan Ram is not on success track as a hero and the director is a debutante. But still, 'MLA' has done very good pre-release business. As the teaser and other promos are impressive, the movie pre-release business closed at Rs.22 crores. If we look at area wise business, Nizam rights sold for Rs.4.2 crores.. Andhra 6.3 crores.. Ceded Rs. 2.5 crores.
Theatrical rights of Overseas and other areas fetched around Rs.5 crores. On the whole, the movie pre-release business touched Rs. 22 crores. Prints and other expenses will be around Rs. 2 crores and Kalyan Ram film's target at the box office is Rs. 25 crores.
