A massive fire accident happened at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Wednesday night. As many as 400 stalls were gutted in fire. Property loss is estimated to be massive.

Short-Circuit in the Andhra Bank Stall led to the massive fire mishap. Fire Engines arrived to the spot 30 minutes about the fire broke out. By then, Hundreds of the stalls were burnt to ashes. While the fire broke out at around 7.30 pm, Fire Safety Personnel kept working even after 10.30 pm to put off the blaze. As many as 18 fire engines were used to bring the situation under control.

Stampede at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds caused injuries to owners of few stalls and visitors. Luckily, There is no loss of life.

Eye-Witnesses say, 'Fire broke out in the bank and then spread to all the nearby stalls within few minutes. We were able to alert people and bring them out. There is no possibility to prevent the goods from burning in the fire'.

Owners of Stalls staged protest in front of Home Minister Mahmood Ali for compensation. The Minister assured that Government would certainly come to their rescue.

About 2900 Stalls have been set up in Nampally Exhibition Grounds (Numaish) in 23 acres. This exhibition which began on January 1st will continue till February 15th. Close to 30 lakh visitors are expected during this period.
