Trolls Inevitable For Jaanu!

Many people believe that remakes are a short cut to success. But a few stay away from attempting remakes and Dil Raju is one such person. Right from the beginning, he kept his distance from remakes. But he is remaking two films now. While the first is 'Jaanu' which is a remake of Tamil film '96', the other one is the 'Pink' remake with Pawan Kalyan. Dil Raju looks pretty confident but 'Jaanu' did not get any buzz till now. As a matter of fact, the film had more buzz before the shooting had started than now.

It is quite easy to remake commercial films but remaking a film which is considered as a classic is a very tough task. Current generation movie buffs have access to all kinds of movies. They can watch films in any language with the help of subtitles. So, remaking such a film is a big risk as many might have already watched the original. Remakes get subjected to trolls very severely. Naga Chaitanya's 'Premam' remake, Tamil remake of 'Arjun Reddy' and others were victims of such brutal trolling.

As both critics and audience might have already watched the Tamil version, comparisons are bound to take place. The original version is quite slow-paced which may or may not work out here. You cannot make it crisp as there is a chance of the film's soul getting lost. The performances of Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi are the biggest assets of the original which took the movie to a whole new level. We need to see if Sharwanand and Samantha can recreate that kind of magic or not.
The film may end up being successful if it satisfies the audience but the team of 'Jaanu' are not looking quite interested in promoting it. The publicity is very dull for this flick as many people don't even know when the film is getting released. Let us wait and see what happens on February 7th.
