South African cricketer Imran Tahir was humiliated and expelled by Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham when he sought Visa to play for World XI in Pakistan.

For the Independence Cup, Cricketers from Seven Test-playing Nations will play 3 T20s at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 12th, 13th and 15th against Pakistan. Imran Tahir is part of the 14-Member World XI squad. When he went to obtain Visa, The Leg-Spinner and his family were humiliated and expelled from Pak High Commission.

Imran Tahir is a Pakistan-born South African Cricketer. He shared a long post on Twitter to convey his feeling after being humiliated. 'After going through the painful trauma of waiting for 5 hours, I was expelled by the staff explaining that the office hours are over. It was only after the intervention of High Commissioner Lbn-E-Abbas, We were issued Visas. It's an irony that a Pak-origin South African Cricketer who intended to play in Word XI was treated so miserably,' he said.

Pakistan's Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal apologized to Imran Tahir and assured appropriate action after an investigation.

Imran Tahir took 57 wickets in 20 Tests and 132 wickets in 78 ODIs for South Africa.
