BJP Sops To Loyal Party Workers In AP
X
The BJP, which has opened the gates for leaders from other parties, especially those from the TDP and the Jana Sena, is finding itself in a piquant position. The deluge of leaders from outside is threatening the long-time workers and leaders of the BJP, who have served the party for decades when there were no hopes whatsoever of coming to power. These leaders are feeling insecure in the party these days what with heavyweights and sitting MPs from other parties joining the BJP.

The BJP, which realised these insecurities in the loyal party workers, has decided to reward them in various ways. Many are being given nominated posts in a hurry. For instance, NTR's daughter Daggubati Purandeswari had joined the party before 2014 and remained with the party all these years. She has contested from Vizag in the latest Lok Sabha elections and lost. She has been given the nominated post of independent director of the Air India board. Similarly, Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu, a prominent Kamma leader and an industrialist, is known to be close to Venkaiah Naidu. He has remained with the BJP even during the TDP rule. He has been made chairperson of the prestigious Tobacco Board. Party's young gun and prominent Reddy face Vishnu Vardhan Reddy has been made the vice-chairperson of the Nehru Yuvak Kendra.

If party sources are to be believed, more such loyal party workers would be rewarded with nominated posts at the earliest. This will allay their fears of being swamped by migrant leaders like Sujana Chowdary and CM Ramesh.
