More than 2 kg of gold bars and 1 kg of rhodium-polished gold chains, which collectively worth over Rs 1 crore has been recovered from a passenger after he landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.

The passenger who arrived at the airport around 7.30 AM from Dubai was stopped by Customs Officials when he was walking through the green channel. During the questioning, the middle-aged person claimed he is not carrying any dutiable goods. After examining his travel pattern and the profile, the officials made him undergo physical frisking and the gold in his under-garments has been noticed then.

The market value of the gold recovered for the passenger is approximately Rs 1.1 crore. Officials have been grilling the passenger as part of the enquiry process.
