11 Gujarat Banks Benefited From Note Ban?

Congress alleged 11 Gujarat District Cooperative Banks linked to BJP have received deposits to the tune Rs 3,118.51 crore within 5 days after demonetisation. As much Rs 14,293.71 crore were deposited in Cooperative Banks in BJP-ruled States within 5 days. The Main Opposition went on to say this information confirms the biggest scam in independent India in the name of note ban.



An RTI Query confirmed Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADCB) for which BJP Chief Amit Shah is the Director received Rs 745.59 crore of scrapped notes. Centre passed an order asking Cooperative Banks not to accept scrapped notes after 5 days fearing money laundering.

NABARD, however, denied any irregularities. A clarification was issued that deposits happened as per all KYC Norms.
